Would Mother Goose seriously accept knights to be her own if they offer themselves?

HONESTLY I'm... not really sure. She's not inclined to take in any knights because she doesn't have a use for them; powerwise, she's not interested in getting stronger through the power of knights. She's also very much disinclined to get herself involved in the power struggle going on between Mal and Beauty.

Right now the best thing she figures she can do is stay under the radar helping the heroes in whatever little ways she can.

These are my top four goals right now, but otherwise I'm looking forward to when he gets his first skill because pretty much anything off that list will dictate mayhem.

DRANK WANTS TO KISS CRUBY ALWAYS.

Okay that horribly embarrassing thing they don't talk about aside, Dusk is honestly surprised by how stable Crusade is. The whole Dawn-in-my-head left him with a kind of neutral-negative view of all of Ruby, which really wasn't far but the entire thing left a kind of negative taste in his mouth anyway, but the few conversations he's had with Crusade were a lot more pleasant overall than he expected them to be. Beacon of sanity, etc etc.

At the moment, Dusk has an overall positive view of Crusade. Despite the awkwardness, he did like talking to him the few times he did and the SANITY is a very much appreciated thing. It'd take a few more conversations, but I think Crusade could become someone that Dusk could come to like on a normal level. Possibly trust! But atm it's still a little too up in the air.

IT'S NICE HAVING A SANE PERSON ON RUBY EH.

Konatsu has . . . the most hilarious, ridiculous, baby crush on Asch WHICH IS HORRIBLE AND HE HATES HIMSELF AHHHH! He doesn't plan on nurturing or GOD FORBID ever acting on it. He recognizes how ludicrous and inappropriate it is (these are THE WORDS HE USES IN HIS HEAD, "this is ludicrous and inappropriate!!!"). But he's sort of doing that thing where he wants to talk to him but not too much because talking to him too much looks suspicious but he wants to but oh no did I say something dumb am I making him uncomfortable OH GOD WHY DO I EVEN CARE I'M GOING TO GO HIDE NOW! And then he goes home and writes Asch's name in his diary--okay that last part doesn't happen.

Mostly though he likes him and wants to be his friend! The kiss thing was AWKWARD and caused AWKWARD FEELINGS, and Konatsu didn't really know him well outside of that T first, although his impression was positive because Asch handled himself well when Luke was inside of him, and he also knows Luke cares a LOT about him (enough to UNCOMA HIMSELF). So he was predisposed to think favorably of him, and then the kiss happened and he didn't expect things to go well after that, but then they talked and actually Asch is a nice guy to talk to! They can ignore that whole--thing that happened that they don't talk about! He's sane and nice. It was less awkward than he expected (other than his own internal flustering), so yay. He would like to talk more, both for the sake of having a friend and the sake of knowing more about Luke's not-twin, which is also important to him.

So does Asch really have alternate personalities :3a

Dusk and Luke are essentially the same person! Luke's a lot more naive because of his limited memories/world experience, but both Dusk and Luke are strongly similar in personality, goals, and morals.

There's also Asch, whose ideas and personality were HEAVILY influenced by Van throughout his life. Hating the replica was a thing Van encouraged him to do! I'm pretty sure Asch would have just been super sad panda for a long time over being replaced if it hadn't been for Van's influence. Asch is also where Dusk's periodic rage fits come from, because Dusk is bad at handling the instinctive ANGER!! ingrained into his body from being Asch. So sometimes it comes out and Kite has to throw a bucket of water on him and he manages to regain his sense of Dusk.

... And then there is Drank. Dusk and Luke are strongly influenced by the 'noble ideals' so they don't talk about their personal desires and wants. Nor do they pursue them in any way; the people/team/etc are much more important than what he wants. Drank is the result of taking down all those self-inflicted limitations and doing/saying what he REALLY thinks. FOR EXAMPLE helping Konatsu do his quest was a thing Dusk would have wanted to do, but when he found out it was kissing his PROPER NOBLE side would have gone 'no that is inappropriate maybe someone else on the team won't mind...' and he would have gone to find Ferris probably. Drank on the other hand would see the 'sensibility' in just doing it himself. And could admit that he liked kissing! It's a very much ALL WALLS DOWN thing that leaves Drank a lot more open and impulsive than Dusk, who tends to overthink/restrain himself.

God I just spent a paragraph talking about Asch's drunk alter ego.

Flame is one of Chariot's dumb bros atm. He enjoys talking to him and bothering him whenever he gets the chance. Flame's also one of the few people Chariot would seek out to have a Serious Conversation with if need be, because his is an opinion he'd respect.

What he does really like about Flame so far is the way that he's taking his time with this whole deciding over Onyx vs Sterling thing. Chariot knows that he kind of joined Onyx on blind faith, and hearing that the other two original members joined because of deals they received is something he's a little :|a over, but he also doesn't know the details of the deal and such. So he respects that Flame's seriously considering this team move, and that kind of thoughtfulness is something he likes.

Reverse!

Oh gosh so uh. Flame has the biggest babycrush on Chariot. Basically, Chariot is his favorite person in Aather so far because he's just been… consistently awesome. He's nice, patient, doesn't mind explaining things, seems to honestly value Flame's opinion, and is generally fun to hang around with! All of which have lead to Flame quietly but intensely crushing on him. WHICH EMBARRASSES HIM TO NO END AND HE IS TRYING TO IGNORE IT B/!!! Just. Yeah. Chariot is awesome.

Also, Flame really, really appreciates the talks they've had on the topic of Onyx vs Sterling. The choice has kind of become a Big Deal for him, and Chariot has been very understanding and encouraging about it. After talking to Beauty, seeing Mal's game, and getting his most recent memory back, he's… kind of leaning towards Onyx. He has a few more questions for Mal, but either way, he probably won't make a decision without talking to Chariot some more first.

So how is Onyx settling in with its new members, in your view?

Hmm, I don't think we've really had a big TEAM MEETING yet, but I think overall Onyx has been getting along? They don't have a very strong sense of unity among themselves, but I would say they're all very loyal to Mal, at least. Whenever she's around, an Onyx is usually loitering in the area too, watching over her.

As far as team goes, Chariot likes Sword and Sion, definitely, but Crow's still proven to be elusive and he's only talked with Cinnamon on a very basic level. He'd love to have a getting to know the team party though, I should talk with Sion about that... :|a

CURIOSITY and failure at stalking leads me to ask who, if anyone, Flame's been talking with on Sterling's side about the choice?

Mostly he's talked with Lloyd! Though I don't know if Lloyd really... counts as Sterling, since from what I know he's more of a FREEEE AGENT or would be if he had his way? Like Dino, Lloyd's encouraging him to take his time and not rush a decision :|b So he's getting good advice from both corners, I think.

I do! They're fairly far into the future and they're more of a SURPRISE thing I would like to do, but as far as immediate plans go I'd like to have her do more out-of-games things with the norms. I've been trying to think of more things she can do and failing though :|a

What development for your characters have you been most surprised about here in aather?

Iiii was definitely surprised by the extent of Faith's bromarriage with Lloyd! We apped them knowing they'd probably be friends but the degree of their friendship/trust kind of shot WAY ABOVE/BEYOND what we'd predicted! It also took a bunch of memories and IC events coming back with certain timings--if Mithos had gotten RACISM!!! back too early he wouldn't be as trusting; if he hadn't had manasense back or Riful hadn't been such a skeeve they wouldn't be roommates, etc. I also wasn't expecting Mithos to develop into such a free agent with a philosophy of quietly breaking down perceived divisions--it's something he never manages to understand in canon.

For Mint, it was developing PARTY LOYALTY for her team! She canonly becomes pretty protective of people she likes, but ultimately she's a lone protag who does all the really hard world-changing shit on her lonesome. Support is incidental! Here in Aather she has her team and a handful of others outside it who she actually feels she can rely on regularly. It's different! It's good for her.

Reverse?

I didn't expect Dusk to attach himself so entirely to Dawn. I fully expected him to put some distance between them after getting back the Akzeriuth memory, but because that was quickly followed by the chain of events that happened, Dusk was kind of shock-forced into coming to circumstances with his feelings regarding Dawn and as a result grew even more attached to him. LIKE REVERSE CANON, now Dusk is at the point where whatever memories he gets back, he won't let them affect his feelings toward Dawn but they have been messing around with his feelings toward other things/himself.

For Chariot I... did not expect him to join Onyx because I didn't know there was an Onyx! But when it came up I knew that him joining could be a Thing because I had been failing to thread him with other knights and so he didn't have any of the attachments to Sterling that would/could have kept him back. I love Chariot being on Onyx now, it is such a self-formed team of derp and topping Mal is the best thing ever \o/

Interested! Generally positive, but that is Chariot's current default when it comes to talking with people. Thorn has a very cool demeanor to him that makes Chariot want to get him to talk more just to get to know him better. See what he's really thinking about! Other than that though, they didn't really talk enough for Chariot to have a strong sense of who Thorn is and if he had any other intentions were behind the whole 'o you're onyx' thing, but as a whole he does plan to keep casually talking with Thorn just to see what he can find out about him.

Fiiirst impression, fairly positive! A little above the default positive that Dino has going for most people he's only just met, which came about from Guy being a reasonable kind of guy. There is... not much else because they didn't talk for very long and Dino had other things on his mind, but Guy is someone he'd like to talk to more once things are a little more settled. FINALLY MEETING STERLING.

Is Mother Goose wary of any of the other Personae? Oh. Also thoughts on Mal. Ferris loev talking bird ;^;

Mal happens to be the one Personae that Mother Goose is most wary of! Mostly because the level of power Mal has and her general methods in going about things. In general though, she's unfond of personae that run injury/death games and generally... treat the norms/knights like crap. They can't help us if we don't help them, etc etc.

Also once she finds out Firebird has a pottymouth she's going to be >(!! in her direction.

Ferris' thoughts on Sion joining Onyx! Because I'm too lazy to stalk properly :|a

The stuff Coyote mentioned to Ryner naturally got passed on to Ferris and so Ferris is naturally wary of Mal, even though Mal hasn't... done anything. Sion could be a positive influence on Mal's side and the other knights (oddly enough including Sword) have been fairly chill. So she thinks Sion should exercise caution (which he usually doesn't) but she's otherwise FINE with it because now she can totally reap the benefits of him being a knight.

Update on Ferris and Asch?

... Dusk still does like Ferris but he has like +15 wariness about her ideas because the things she's shared with him have been kind of worrisome! He also realizes there isn't an ill-intent when she does horrible things to her friends, so maybe she just has a very... twisted... way of showing her friendship.

Either way, it's a feeling of 'nice teammate but don't leave her alone with sharp things' for Dusk.

Anything for Ferris on Asch?

He is smart, logical and reliable and a bit motherly, which is a plus. He cooks! No one dies, etc. She trusts that he can make rational decisions that are in the best interest of the team in or out of games; and she also likes that he's fairly self-aware, though she thinks he worries a bit too much about that. She enjoys seeing him flustered, and is trying to figure out what the buttons for that are so she can hit them more deliberately.

For the most part, she thinks he is a good teammate and if not the co-leader with Kite, then the shadow leader.

Chariot is actually really fond of the pony on both a 'oh man it's a talking pony that's awesome' level and a conversational one! There is something about her personality that he finds pleasant, so he is all for just hanging out and talking with the pony someday. IT'S KIND OF A SIMPLE LIKE ATM but yes he is fond of the pony.
